If you know tools then you know Festool. I would consider myself one of Festool's biggest fans. Recently, I adopted a new construction practice, using the Festool Domino, for face frame and cabinet box assemblies. The Domino is a mortiser that uses prefabricated loose tenons similar to a dowel, but glorified. Mortise and tenon joinery is nothing new. However, this "loose tenon" is. Making an integrated tenon on a workpiece is very time consuming. With the Domino it's been made simple. The "loose tenon" is like a dowel in the sense that the workpiece gets mortised and the tenon gets glued in. So long to the days of using a chisel to pair the tenon to the mortise. Mechanical assemblies are great, don't get me wrong, but this is a far superior type of joinery. Thanks Festool!
